Online Education (OEd) offers a flexible and affordable way to complete your secondary education. We’re the first institution in the nation to provide online education for senior high school (SHS) students.

We pioneered the online senior high school program to make 21st-century education and learning available to all. Our internet-based alternative to traditional schooling gives individuals the opportunity to receive quality education while improving their digital skills for career success.

Our SHS program follows the K-12 curriculum mandated by law. We provide three specialization or track options for our SHS students: General Academics (GA), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and Accounting and Business Administration (ABM).

The students of our online school can access our modules whenever and wherever they want. We make student-teacher consultations and student collaboration convenient using instructional course videos that replicate classroom interactions via a feedback and chat system.

On 2013, Former President Benigno Aquino III approved the Enhanced Basic Education Act, commonly referred to as the K-12 Act. The goal of the K-12 system is to equip students with the knowledge and skills that will help them prepare for their desired career path.

While the K-12 curriculum offers holistic education for Filipino students, not many can enroll in a conventional school. Some students, for instance, are unable to attend regular classes due to geographic, economic, and physical limitations.

The good news is that these students have the opportunity to finish K-12 by taking advantage of the country’s open high school program (OHSP). This alternative mode of education is ideal for irregular high school students and elementary school graduates who want to finish secondary education. These individuals may sign up for a school that offers an online K-12 program.

While online K-12 students are still required to complete and submit assignments and projects on the due date set by their teacher, they do not need to adhere to the schedules of a traditional school. They have the option to attend classes during non-traditional hours.

Affordable Tuition And Daily Allowance

Students who are studying in a conventional school have to pay for expensive books, transportation (public transport or school service), and other resource materials. Students can access and download the educational resources they need from the school website. Also, miscellaneous fees often cover classroom overhead and other necessities in a traditional school, which an online K-12 program has no use for.

Registration

Student Applicants (SA) interested in applying for the program should register on this link and fill up the online registration form in the portal. OEd has a single signup and log-in system which connects the email address and password registered to both the Student Information System (SIS) and the Learning Management System (LMS).

After the registration, student applicants need to log-in through oedportal.amauonline.com using the registered email address and password. SA’s need to choose the program they wish to enroll. For an initial evaluation, students need to submit a scanned copy (PDF, DOC, JPEG, PNG format with no greater than 5MB file size) of the following requirements:

Tuition Fee

For Senior High School:
Grade 11 total fees per semester is P25, 050 and for Grade 12 total fees per semester is P25, 550. Two semesters in a year. Full cash discount and installment schemes are available.

For Junior High School:
Total Fees for the whole year Grade 10 – P40, 050, Grade 9 – P38, 050, Grade 8 – P36, 050, and Grade 7 – P34, 050. Full cash discount and installment schemes are available.

For Basic Education:
Total fees for the whole year Grade 3 and Grade 4 – P44, 050, Grade 5 and Grade 6 – P49, 050. Full cash discount and installment schemes are available.

Payment

After the evaluation and if the student applicants were amenable to the subjects credited and loaded in their portal, they may then process the payment. This is the last step in admission.
The student may pay using different payment gateways such as Gcash inside the portal. If students opt to pay through over-the-counter such as banks or others, must go to Dragon pay first to create a transaction ID to be presented to any OTC partner banks.
Should the Student Applicant want to pay outside the portal; an account number may be requested from their assigned admission adviser.
Once the payment is confirmed, students must click My LMS on the side of their portal to start accessing their activated subjects. The subjects will be activated within 24 to 48 school hours from Monday to Friday.

FAQs

What is online K-12 school like?

You’ll receive the same lessons that are taught in classrooms, except you don’t have to go to a physical OEd campus. Everything — class videos, assignments, and quizzes — is accomplished in our Learning Management System (LMS), a portal where you can access lessons and answer activities. You can access your LMS account and attend classes during non-traditional hours. Plus, you can learn at your own pace.

Does online K-12 school count as full-time enrollment?

Yes, it does! AMA University Online Education is part of AMA University, which means we’re an accredited institution. Once you’ve passed all the requirements for our senior high school program, AMA University will grant you a diploma. In fact, you can graduate with the rest of the students from AMA University; we’ll forward the details once you qualify for graduation.

Can I start online senior high school anytime?

Yes, you may. Our online SHS program doesn’t follow a traditional academic calendar. Our school year is divided into two terms, running for 20 weeks or equivalent to 140 days. You can start your online schooling anytime within this period. If you complete all requirements earlier than 140 days, and it’s been 70 days since your subjects have been activated, you may enroll for the next term. But your report card will only be released after the 140-day residency.

Are there opportunities to meet my fellow senior high students?

Since all schoolwork is accomplished and turned in online, it’s unlikely you’ll get to meet your classmates in person. You can, however, still easily discuss your ideas with fellow learners on the discussion boards. Moreover, if you secure the approval of an AMAOEd Coordinator, you may post posters, broadsheets, survey sheets, and other learning tools on the board. LMS enables a rich interaction between its students.

How do students turn in their work?

All assignments are submitted on the LMS portal. Each student has an account and dashboard, where they can access class modules, video lessons, and homework.
At the bottom of the lessons or chapter quizzes, there are links that lead you to submission portals. Meanwhile, quizzes and exams are time-bound. The duration for quizzes depends on the lesson, while final exams run for a maximum of two hours.

Until when can students add or drop subjects?

Adding a subject is not applicable for SHS. Students must take a full load, depending on the subjects that they should take per semester/term.
Dropping a subject is also not applicable for SHS. DepEd policies state that academic bodies should not fail or drop a student. Instead, we are to help them pass by giving remedial lessons.
The student will be issued a drop mark in his report card when he requests to transfer to another school.

Do you accept senior high school transferees?

All incoming Grade 11 students are considered applicants, not transferees. This means all applicants need to present their:

– NSO Birth Certificate
– Grade 10 Form 138 or School Card
– Form 137 or Transcript of Records
– Certificate of Completion
– Certificate of Good Moral Character
– Successful Online Registration

Meanwhile, AMA Online Education University accepts transferees for Grade 12. Transferees have to present:

– NSO Birth Certificate
– Grade 11 Form 138 or School Card
– Form 137 or Transcript of Records
– Successful Online Registration

Take note that the credentials of applicants and transferees will still be evaluated by the school pending approval.

Unlike classroom-based education, our online school allows you to learn at your own pace. You can breeze through a topic you easily understand or allot more time for a challenging lesson. You also have the options to access lessons outside traditional school hours. Moreover, you can join active discussions with fellow learners on the discussion boards — you’ll never have to deal with stage fright that comes with speaking in front of a class.
